Fashion Drawing on Tablet Weekend
This two-day intensive weekend workshop lets you explore how you can use your iPad or tablet as a tool to aid in your creative process. Its common place that in the industry that designers use digital means to explain what they are thinking. Using a graphics tablets to draw and render. Nowadays most people are literate with using their smart phones and tablets, this course will show you how to use your tablets to your advantage and help you create fashion.
This is a beginner’s class, so no prior knowledge of technology is needed. There should be some interest in fashion and the design process. You will be guided through the most relevant apps to use for your tablet, understand how to work with layers and using layers to add more detail and depth to your design’s, explore using colour, print and texture to your drawings, and you will begin to understand how to respond quickly to ideas and develop your design’s.
You should come prepared with some already thought out designs and concepts. These can be rough and undeveloped, as you will develop them in the class. You will also need a tablet, (iPad, Samsung, etc) that is up to date and runs smoothly. You should have some sort of stylus with that that you can draw with.
You will leave the course with a good knowledge of design and the creative process, which will help you to develop individually. You will learn skills and techniques that you will be able to take away with you and use within your own practice.

Who should take this course?
This course is ideal for those who are just starting their careers in the creative fashion world. No knowledge required just an interest for design. Please come to the class with some research and some initial designs. You will be taught how to take rough and preliminary designs and develop them further using a tablet.

Dominic-Afsheen Akhavan-Moossavi is a graduate from the BA Fashion course at Central Saint Martins. He is a menswear designer, with a deep interest in print, colour and performance. As well as his own practice he is involved in education and helping anyone achieve their potential and ideas.

- Tablet (iPad, Samsung, etc) please make sure it can run Tayasui Sketches and Adobe Illustrator Draw
