Tube Setting: Jewellery (Weekend)

Silver tubes can easily be adapted to make them into bezel settings for round faceted stones.

You will make a ring during this two day course, and set at least one faceted stone into it. Quicker students may complete more pieces.

Variations on tube settings will also be covered and includes making collets from tube, as well as adapting tubes by cutting and filing.

Entry requirements: This course is suitable for students who have some experience of jewellery making.

Please note: This course is for students aged 18 and older

Tutor Description

Anastasia Young is a practising jewellery designer and artist, and author of 'The Jewellery Materials Sourcebook' (A & C Black) and 'The Workbench Guide to Jewellery Techniques' (Thames & Hudson). She is a graduate of the Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins, where she lectures on the BA Jewellery course.

Please bring with you to the first session:   
  • An apron    
  • Sensible footwear ie. no 'open toe' sandals    
  • Hair band (if you have long hair)
