Ports 1961 Scholarship

The Ports 1961 Scholarship of £37,280 is available to 1 Home or International student enrolled on the MA Fashion course at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Ports 1961 Scholarship students must be:

  • considered a Home student who is ordinarily resident in the UK (living in or predominantly tied to) the UK for most of the 3 years before your course is due to start OR
  • considered an International student for tuition fee purposes AND
  • enrolled on the full-time MA Fashion course at Central Saint Martins, UAL starting in October 2023.

PORTS 1961 was introduced in 2004 as the luxury designer label of the PORTS Group. Showcasing a unique global perspective, its collections have been remarkably influenced by different cultures as well as the wandering essence of the world traveller. The designs encapsulate modern creativity while retaining the craftsmanship legacy of the label. Catering to individuals at the forefront of fashion, Milan-based PORTS 1961 has evolved into a high-powered brand known for its novel, imaginative, and out of the ordinary designs.

PORTS has been collaborating with world-leading fashion design institution Central Saint Martins since 2015 to offer the “PORTS 1961 MA Fashion Scholarship” to one talented student each year. A placement in the prestigious MA Fashion program under Course Director Fabio Piras is highly coveted, leading to successful fashion careers for many of its graduates.

The scholarship will be assessed on the basis of financial need and academic merit. It will provide a contribution towards, tuition fees, course costs and living expenses for Home students and a contribution to tuition fees only for international students.

Applications are welcome from those who are in financial hardship and those who will benefit from postgraduate studies to realise their full potential.

Scholarship applications have now closed for 2023/24.  Applications for 2024/25 will open in late Summer 2024.

Receiving payment

For Home students, the scholarship will provide a contribution towards tuition fees, course costs and living expenses. For International students, the scholarship will provide a contribution towards tuition fees.

Tuition fees will be paid directly from the award into the University’s Tuition Fees account.

Course costs and living expenses payments (for Home students only) will be paid in termly instalments to the award recipient via BACS.
