Biography

Honorary Fellow

Graduating from Central Saint Martins, London College of Communication, and London College of Fashion, Beatrix Ong won the role of Creative Director of Jimmy Choo at age 22.

She garnered a celebrity following and has collaborated with some of the world's most respected designers, brands and artists, including Paramount and Nike. Her work has been acquired by the Victoria and Albert Museum as part of their permanent collection.

Beatrix forayed into furniture, which toured and was displayed in design museums across the globe from Milan, Hong Kong and Korea to Chicago. She currently sits on the Development and Communications Committee for the Design Museum and is also an Honorary Freeman of The Worshipful Company of Cordwainers.

Beatrix’s passion for supporting next generations led her to author a children’s book and complete an Advanced Diploma in Child Psychology in 2021. She has donated her archive to UAL, which will be accessible to all UAL students at the new LCF site in Stratford.
