Cécile Trémolières’ degree show design
Congratulations to Cécile Trémolières, Wimbledon College of Arts BA Theatre & Screen: Design for Performance (now, Theatre Design) 2013 graduate, in making it to the finals of this year’s The Linbury Prize for Stage Design 2013.
The biennial Linbury Prize is the most important of its kind in the UK, bringing together the best of emerging designers with professional theatre, dance and opera companies. One of 12 finalists, Cécile was paired with Scottish Dance Theatre for her Linbury design project, Room, choreographed by Fleur Darkin
Cécile Trémolières
Born in Paris, Cécile initially spent three years at the Sorbonne studying modern literature before deciding to combine her passions for literature, theatre and fine art by studying stage design at Wimbledon College of Art. During her time with us she was able to explore and define her approach to design by exposure to a broad spectrum of performance. Designs include Micromégas (Tête à Tête: the Opera Festival – Riverside Studios) and a range of speculative projects including Last Dance (Birkbeck University MFA Directing Course) and Alcina and Hedda Gabler (Young Vic Director Programme 2012). Cécile also assisted Antoine Fontaine on Hippolyte and Aricie (Opéra National de Paris) and Michael Pavelka on The Hanging Gardens (Abbey Theatre, Dublin).
