UAL China Alumni Association presents: A Global Careers China Event Review

Over 65 students and alumni attended last night’s Global Careers China Panel discussion at UAL’s High Holborn building. The event was chaired by Adam Watling, Client Team Manager at London College of Fashion and headed up by Joe Oliver, President of the UAL Beijing Alumni Association and a Central Saint Martins graduate. Joe, a sustainable lifestyle pioneer and Co-Founder of We Impact  gave an inspirational talk about his career so far, and his experiences of working in the creative industries. Joe spoke about the various key points in his career, and the importance of perseverance and staying focussed when facing difficulties.

Joining him on the panel were Shanghai based film maker and LCC alum, Jayga Rayn and Paul Persky, CSM graduate and Digital Designer and Photographer. Jayga gave advice to the audience about finding new business and making contacts in the area, and Paul spoke about his intense but invaluable experiences working in Shanghai.

Fuelled on by the discussion, the panellists were inundated with questions from the audience, which then continued at the networking drinks…

The event was organised to highlight the benefits the two China UAL Alumni Associations can offer to alumni moving to China after graduation. As members of the world’s largest creative network, UAL alumni are invited to keep in touch and get involved with the many different events and activities that our worldwide Associations and groups organise, from relaxed networking drinks, to a lecture or gallery tour. The Alumni Associations provide invaluable opportunities for personal and professional networking.

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in making the panel discussion such an interesting and informative event!
