A collaborative film project between London College of Communication (LCC) Design graduate Florence Creffield and Camberwell Fine Art graduate Melissa Fielding has recently been named Runner-up for Best Documentary at The Lab Film Festival, in conjunction with the East End Film Festival.

Florence studied BA (Hons) Graphic and Media Design, at LCC, specialising in Interaction & Moving Image. Her and Melissa travelled to Uganda to make documentary The Falls, which focusses on the construction of the Bujagali dam on the River Nile and the profound effect it has had on the surrounding landscape and its communities. Telling the story of  the Busoga people, the film highlights the changes to their businesses, family life and spiritual beliefs.

The Lab Film Festival have also selected The Falls to be screened at the opening of the Queen Elizabeth Gardens at the Olympic site, part of the Open East Festival taking place the weekend of 27 – 28 July 2013.
