Calum Clarke graduated from the weave pathway on our BA Textile Design course last year. He has just been awarded a Cockpit Arts / Clothworkers’ Foundation Award 2014.

As his prize, Cockpit Arts will give Calum studio space, business support and shared use of looms.

Calum, who specialises in hand-woven fabrics, is no stranger to scooping awards. In the final year of his degree he won a top scholarship and the Stuart Hollander Memorial Scholarship 2013 from the Worshipful Company of Weavers. His unique and experimental style is often inspired by architechtural design and geometry, and his cloths have been used for fashion, accessories and interiors.

Since graduating, Calum has been selling designs internationally through an agent. He was also the winning weaver on Monty Don’s Real Crafts programme on More4 in March 2014. His woven textile was selected by Jeremy Hackett to be used for limited edition bags for men, a range that will be available in September 2014.
