Committed to cultivating responsible futures for fashion business.

Purpose

Centre for Fashion Business (CFB) explores, challenges and responds to the complex opportunities and societal issues shaped by the global fashion industry. As one of the world’s most dynamic and influential creative sectors, fashion has the power to drive cultural, economic and technological change, but also carries significant responsibility in relation to people, processes, the planet and prosperity. Through interdisciplinary research, practice-based inquiry and knowledge exchange, CFB works collaboratively with industry, communities and academic partners to generate new thinking, foster innovation and create meaningful impact. Our mission is to cultivate a more responsible, inclusive and sustainable fashion and beauty sector through research and practice that supports and contributes to the betterment of business and society.

About us

Centre for Fashion Business is a collaborative research and knowledge exchange community bringing together expertise from marketing, retail, management, consumer behaviour, design, cosmetic science, psychology and the social sciences.

Special interests

We collaborate on conceptual and applied research across five special interest groups: Phygital Fashion and Immersive Technologies; Responsible and Accessible Fashion and Beauty; Behaviours, Aesthetics and Wellbeing; Creative Fashion Enterprise, and Research and Innovation in Fashion Education. By connecting education, research, industry and communities locally and globally, we generate meaningful impact that advances knowledge, informs practice and supports more responsible futures for the business of fashion and beauty.
