Our penultimate MA Menswear graduate under the Graduate Spotlight is Xuefei Wang. Xuefei’s minimalist collection focuses on simplicity and reduction.
To see Xuefei’s collection and those of the other 11 selected students, tune in to the MA Menswear catwalk livestream on LCF Channel tomorrow at 11am GMT.
LCF News: Tell us about your final collection?
The collection is about reduction and minimisation. It is a research and development of clothes themselves. It experiments with the possibility of reducing the elements of clothes until they can no longer be improved by subtraction.
LCF News: Where did you study prior to your MA at LCF?
I studied my BA course at LCF as well.
LCF News: What are your future plans?
I plan to work at designer studios for a couple of years and start with my own studio in China after I have gained enough experience.
LCF News: How do you think the course will help you to realise these plans?
After studying this 15-month course, I have a better knowledge of the fashion industry and better technical skills. All of these achievements will be very helpful for me to get involved in the fashion industry and get myself ready to face any challenge I might meet.
LCF News: What advice would you give to anyone considering studying an MA at LCF?
MA Menswear is a really great course for anyone who already has a good understanding of fashion as well as good technical skills and wants to grab a chance to reach a higher level of fashion design. It is a chance to define their own design philosophy.
