Each year, thousands of people celebrate the Chinese New Year in central London and across the city, being one of the largest festivities for this day outside Asia. The lunar calendar is represented by one of twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac and 2020 will welcome the Rat. Here are a few options to join the celebrations of this colourful festivity!

UAL

If you shy away from large gatherings, you can join UAL students to celebrate the Lunar New Year with music, a photobooth, bubble tea and of course, a wide selection of Asian food and entertainment. All students are welcome.

London

If you want to join the many people in the streets of London to celebrate the Chinese New Year, Trafalgar Square is where you need to go to watch the free stage performances and parade. The festivities are organised by the London Chinatown Chinese Association (LCCA).

In the meantime, find out more about the Chinese Zodiacs. "Xin Nian Kuai Le" (Happy New Year in Mandarin) or "San Nin Faai Lok" (in Cantonese)!.
