Enrico Bellenghi, a talented graduate in MA Fashion, Film and Digital Production at London College of Fashion, has made waves in the creative world by clinching two prestigious awards at Videoclip Italia 2024. His project, Natività, was recognised as the Best Electronic Music Video and Best Student Film at Italy’s leading music video awards ceremony.

Blending fashion, film, and music in a uniquely experimental way, Enrico's work captures the essence of his hometown's ancient salt mines through a modern lens. From his childhood dreams of studying in London to the recognition of his creative brilliance on an international stage, this is the inspiring story of a young visionary redefining boundaries in fashion and film.

Enrico never dreamed that a project he created during his time at London College of Fashion would receive this kind of feedback. “It was super unexpected because we were competing with very big artists such as Måneskin,” he recalls the surprise.

Born in Italy, Enrico had always dreamed of studying in London. “Since I was a kid, I always wanted to come here because this city is so special for young creatives,” he says. With a background in fashion styling, Enrico chose the MA Fashion, Film and Digital Production course because it seemed like the perfect opportunity to create truly personal projects, in contrast to his more theoretical bachelor's degree.

He describes the project as very experimental because it doesn’t necessarily fit under clear music video or fashion film labels. “It was a collaboration of music, film, and fashion based on an old salt mine located in my hometown,” Enrico explains. In his research, he found out that the mine dates back to as early as 500 BC and decided to transport the story to modern times.

Enrico admits that winning these kinds of awards actually makes him slightly anxious. Moreover, he never expected to receive the very first award presented at the awards ceremony taking place in Rome at the end of June. “I had to go on stage, but I couldn't say a single word because I was so overwhelmed,” he remembers.

Enrico used to think that such moments were impossible to achieve. "It was like a mountain to climb because there would always be so many people who are extremely good," he says.

Receiving the recognition has made his inner child happy. "I would never consider myself as doing anything big and would always worry about doing something with my life, but this has proved that something interesting is happening after all," he smiles.

Now, Enrico is represented by a creative agency that contacted him after participating in a festival. Between working on commercial projects and music videos, Enrico also devotes time to projects more focused on narration, as he aims to work in the film industry in the future.

After completing his studies, London is still on Enrico's mind, describing his relationship with the city as swinging between love and hate. "I felt like the posters on the walls were talking to me because of the creative energy in this place," Enrico recalls, remaining certain that London's creative spirit will draw him back to the city one day.
