Conde Nast made the shock announcement that Style.com, their fledgling e-commerce platform was to shutter with immediate effect and that all web traffic would be redirected to strategic retail partner FarFetch’s site. Conde Nast International’s Chief Exec Jonathan Newhouse said the partnership was about ‘…combining best-in-class content with the world’s leading online luxury shopping destination…’ . Vogue.co.uk reports.

With a little help from my friends…

Business of Fashion exclusively revealed Stella McCartney’s menswear film with director Sean Ellis, an old friend of hers. Black Park is an unsettling film that flips between a flashing disco and a creepy cabin in the wood, features actor Cillian Murphy and the soundtrack is provided by Stella’s dad – Beatles legend Paul McCartney.

Futuristic opera…

Gareth Pugh has collaborated with a digital arts studio, Werkflow, to create a virtual game of the costumes he has designed for futuristic opera Antigona, creatively directed by Turner prize-nominated artist Goshka Macuga. DazedDigital reported on the collaboration which has a link to the interactive content.

New guard at Vogue…

Incoming editor-in-chief of British Vogue, Edward Enninful has announced his first appointment. Venetia Scott will replace Lucinda Chambers as fashion director when she leaves after 36 years at the title. Scott started her career at British Vogue under Grace Coddington and gone on to work with the world’s greatest brands, publications and photographers.

Ready for my close up…

According to a recent beauty report millennials are the highest and heaviest consumers of skincare, in particular face masks, exfoliators and lip treatments. Fashionista.com puts this trend down to the selfie generation wanting to look good on Instagram.
