Rachel Louise Brown is the Course Leader for MA Commercial Photography at London College of Communication. She is a photographer, photo director and educator.

Rachel’s fine art practice is routed in an exploration of performance, constructed environments and the simulated self. She has exhibited and participated in artist residencies internationally. Her series Simulations was shown as part of the Women in Photography Pavilion Commission at Photo London (2019) and most recently a series of self-portraits Salty Clowns, created during the pandemic - utilising the power of phototherapy and one of the earliest inventions of photography, the salt print - debuted at Photo London (2021) and is showing early next year at the London Art Fair (2023).

Rachel is represented by Crane Kalman Brighton for fine art editions and Wren London for commercial commissions. She regularly shoots for the likes of Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, The National Theatre and the Telegraph Magazine.

Alongside her photographic practice, Rachel has held several notable commissioning and production roles in the industry, as Photo Director of Harper’s Bazaar UK (2014-2021), Studio Manager of Tim Walker (2011-2014).
