Second year and masters students from 11 courses have collaborated for the Lime Grove exhibition ‘Process is a Beautiful Thing’. Over 5 weeks, 33 students combined efforts to deliver an impressive final show. The aim was to showcase the development and testing processes that are invisible to fashion customers. The behind-the-scenes creation stages are crucial to innovation in the industry. The first phase of the exhibition ran for two weeks this June, while the second phase will continue until the start of the next academic year, evolving from artefacts to design sketches.
The project was led by London College of Fashion Programme Director Lindsey Riley and Specialist Technician and fashion stylist Justyna Mysior. Together they have worked with the students produce the exhibition at Lime Grove. The exhibition was partly funded by the UAL Learning and Teaching Fund.

Tropical Bliss
The group explored the notion of Onirism through a portrayal of a tropical, dream-like visual reality, which is inspired by the designer’s garment of the same name.

why nobody fights
The group came up with the concept called ‘why nobody fights’. Everyone has a different reason to fight for different contexts. This is an opened question. The initial inspiration comes from the designer’s prints and materials of the pants.

Opacities
“Opacities” – originating from the pseudo compound of the words opacity and cities – tries to answer the afore-mentioned questions whilst regarding an individual experience drawn from being a small part of - and among - the crowds of London.

The ‘Rose Top’ and festivals
The garments are from two separate collections. The red top was from a flower collection I made, where I wanted to represent femininity and womanhood and decided to create the "Rose Top": beautiful and has its powerful thorns that are often underestimated. The lilac ruffle tulle wide leg trousers along with the buckle vest with the neon zipper and buckle hoodie were a part of a festival collection for Urban Outfitters.
