“This Summer Showcase is a testament to their commitment; it is one of the most ambitious, intimate and immersive experiences that we’ve ever created for our graduates and provides a real insight into what it’s like to study at London College of Fashion. It’s also an open call to industry to take a closer look at the world leading talent that we have on offer and to invest in the next generation. They share your optimism for the future, and the creative ability to help our economies recover; they help fashion look forward and shape lives and we have every faith in their abilities to succeed." - Professor Roni Brown - Head of College at London College of Fashion, UAL.

This year, the LCF Summer Showcase, launching from Monday 5 July, will be the biggest celebration of world-leading talent that LCF has ever staged – showcasing both BA and MA level students together for the first time. The Summer Showcase will allow audiences to view a selection of work in person at a two-day exhibition at central London’s Victoria House Basement. Acting as a launch event for new innovative digital showcasing platforms which offer unrivalled access to some of the world’s most exciting fashion talent, viewers will find themselves immersed in, and at the centre this year’s incredible student work, from the comfort of their homes.

To complement the showcasing platforms, visitors will also be able to experience selected works in person during a fully covid-compliant, two-day exhibition at Victoria House Basement on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 July. The exhibition will bring to life the work of Class of 2021 to an invited audience of press and industry figures, as well as provide a celebratory moment for friends, family and prospective students. Among the projects, visitors can expect to see a series of interactive installations with work from our School of Media and Communication, showcasing emerging photographers, stylists and creative directors, which prototype future forms of engagement and invite the audience to shape their own experience of the work. Themes explored by this year’s cohort include activism, change, radical visions for the future.

The college’s School of Fashion Design and Technology, which include design courses from Menswear, Womenswear to Contour and Pattern Cutting, will be showcased for the first time on a new immersive platform, where viewers will be virtually surrounded by an array of collections – allowing you to see the work as closely as you would backstage. The Showcase will also see the launch of Voices of the Fashion Business School, a series of industry talks from the College’s Fashion Business School, reviewing some of the most important issues that the industry is currently facing from Covid-Recovery to re-thinking business models in line with sustainability goals and the climate crisis.

Stay tuned from Wednesday 30 June, as the LCF Instagram channel will showcase various works from Class of 2021 graduates via the UAL Graduate Showcase, leading into an exhibit of the specially created digital spaces and industry talks, in addition to previews and tours of the exhibition at Victoria House Basement from Monday 5 July.
