The Fashion Innovation Agency, whose mission is to rewire the industry and build digital designer businesses using emerging technologies, has partnered with award-winning production house RYOT, Kaleidoscope and the Museum of Other Realities to create The Fabric of Reality – a first of its kind ‘phygital’ virtual reality fashion exhibition.
The Fabric of Reality Trailer
Featuring three London-based designers including BA (Hons) Fashion Media Practice and Criticism alumni Damara Inglês, the event incorporates immersive ‘storyworlds’ created to transform the experience of a fashion show into something completely new. More than just a digital exhibition of a physical event, the show reveals “a deeper understanding of design and designer stories... with the scope to take audiences on a journey that explores the narrative behind the making of three top designers’ collections.” The immersive technologies express the emotionality of each garment, as a means of using storytelling to reimagine the future of designer showcases.
The full immersive experience is on Museum of Other Realities until July 2021, and livestreamed footage of the launch event is available to watch without a VR headset below.
