Graduates from London College of Communication’s BA (Hons) Film Practice course have received international recognition from their collaborative film ‘Hers to Take’ – including distribution on Starz, American entertainment company Lionsgate’s premium television network.

‘Hers to Take’ charts the journey of Director/Producer Annie Martin, as she perseveres through a gruelling bouldering trip and explores the wider benefits of risk-taking for women in outdoor adventure sports.

Featuring the talents of Annie’s fellow BA (Hons) Film Practice graduates Kitty Brown (Editor), Louis Luckwell (DOP), and Bartholomew Walak (Associate Producer), the film was awarded Best Documentary at Feel the Reel International Film Festival in August, where it also scooped the Audience Award.

As well as screening to audiences at the Cornwall Film Festival, Equinox Mountain Film Festival, and Two Short Nights film festivals, ‘Hers to Take’ has received further acclaim through the Telling Our Stories documentary film competition which celebrates women-led nonfiction films on womanhood. As one of six finalists, the film will receive distribution on Starz, Lionsgate’s premium television network.
