Biography

Svenja Frahm is a multi-disciplinary Moving Image Designer and a rare specialist in the field of Projection Mapping. Svenja is also Associate Lecturer on BA (Hons) Graphic and Media Design.

She has designed projections for shows like the Es Devlin’s show for the UAE National Day (2020), Pan American Games Opening Ceremony (2019) and Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show (2018).

Her latest works include design and animation for the V&A exhibition ‘Alice: Curious and Curiouser’ and a permanent projection experience in St. Michael’s Cave in Gibraltar called ‘The Awakening’, which was the technically most complex projection surface she's ever worked on.

She was also nominated for an Emmy in 2020 for her work on ‘When Whales Walked’, a program about the evolution of mammals.

Studios she’s worked with include Luke Halls Studio, Pixel Artworks, Momoco, Jellyfish Pictures.

Svenja studied at LCC on the MA Graphic Moving Image in 2013 and is familiar with UAL from a staff and student perspective. She speaks fluent German, English and Mandarin and she has taught at different universities in China, Germany and the UK for many years.
