Biography
Oswin Tickler is a Senior Lecturer in Magazine and Book Design and Production, on both the BA (Hons) Magazine Journalism and Publishing, and MA Publishing courses at London College of Communication. He also teaches as an Associate Lecturer on a number of other courses at UAL.
Oswin has worked part time as a graphic design educator in higher education since 2007. His teaching practice runs alongside working as a graphic designer.
Oswin started as a freelance designer for the Labour Party during a General Election campaign, going on to become Head of the design department 2 years later. From there he left to work as a self-employed designer, working in the UK and Australia for a variety of clients, including a number of magazine publishers.
His ongoing practice based research focuses on experimental publishing and collaborative working, which he has talked about at a number of international conferences.
