Garment Fitting Short Course
Course description
Course Overview
This course provides a clear understanding of what makes a garment fit correctly and how to resolve common fitting challenges in garment production. Whether for yourself, a client or for industry, you will learn how to identify fitting issues on samples and toiles, apply effective adjustment techniques, and take accurate measurements to transfer corrections onto patterns.
Working from 3D to 2D, the course covers practical skills useful for personal dressmaking, bespoke design, pattern cutting, and garment technology, including adjustments that support grading in production. Through hands-on work with live models and sample garments, you will deconstruct and analyse fit issues, discuss why they occur, and practice the best methods to resolve them.
