Biography

Leigh is a Senior Lecturer in Printmaking and Illustration on the BA (Hons) Illustration and Visual Media course. Leigh graduated with an MA in Printmaking from the Royal College of Art in 1998 and has since taught in Further, Higher and Post Graduate Education both nationally and internationally.

He has been an Invited Critic on the MA Printmaking Course at the Royal Academy Antwerp and MA Print at La Cambre Brussels. He has represented UAL in two International Printmaking Workshops at Xi'an Fine Arts Academy in China and Elam School of Fine Art in Auckland, New Zealand. He has been a Print Tutor at the Royal Academy Schools since 2012. In 2015 he received a UAL Arts Teaching Award.

Leigh has worked with students and external collaborators that have included Show Racism the Red Card, The Orangutan Foundation, Create London, the Whitechapel Gallery and the Turner Contemporary. He maintains an active art practice from his studio in Margate and has exhibited his work at The Walker Art Museum Liverpool, The Whitechapel Gallery, The Institute of Contemporary Arts, Turner Contemporary, The Royal Academy of Arts and Centre de la Gravure et de l’Image imprimée de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.
