On Saturday 25th November the winners of this year’s Orange Label Project were announced. The project is a collaboration between LCF and the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women (UN Trust Fund). Last year’s launch marked their 20th anniversary, and the project engages the issue of violence against women with new audiences, particularly young people, through a series of creative activities. At the UN Trust Fund Gala dinner, which also took place on the 25th, LCF was awarded the Orange Heart Award for their collaboration on this project.

This year’s winners include the above film To The Ones Who Tried to Change Us , directed and edited by Akina Chan from BA Fashion Styling & Production. Akina was awarded the prize for Most Compelling Concept. MA Fashion Media Production student Despoina Zachariadou won the prize for Outstanding Technical Skills, with her film Moka and Kiko.

Pippa Smart from MA Fashion Futures, won the prize from Outstanding Photography or Moving Image. Congratulations to all of the winners, who have been awarded a prize of £500 and had their work displayed at the Gala, and to all of the runners up for their incredible entries to mark this worthy cause.

For the next 16 days we are encouraging the fashion industry to show their support too, by uploading an image featuring the colour orange to social media using the hashtag #OrangeLabelProject. Last year the campaign even turned the White House orange! Please join us in uploading an image to your social media accounts on during the 16 days of activism and use the hashtags #Orangetheworld #UNTF #16days #Orangelabelproject
