Professor Corner told us:

It is a real honour to receive an honorary award from the University of Gloucestershire – an institution in which I began to develop the experience in academic leadership that is so important in the role I am doing at LCF today. My time at Gloucester gave me real insight into art and design education and prompted my interest in how art and design subjects relate to other humanities and social science subjects – something which I have really used to develop my thinking about fashion as a discipline. It’s very humbling to be named amongst such distinguished individuals and I’m really looking forward to returning to the University for the ceremony.

The awarding ceremony will take place at the university later this year, where she will be joined by other esteemed individuals from the world of sport, education, fashion, business, religion and public services, who will all be awarded honorary degrees and fellowships at this year’s graduation ceremonies.

Stephen Marston, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gloucestershire, said:

“We are delighted to welcome such a distinguished group of people to our graduation ceremonies this year, and to confer honorary degrees and fellowships upon them. They have all won recognition for excellence in their own field, with a huge variety of achievements. We are pleased to be able to honour and celebrate their remarkable contributions to the country, to the county of Gloucestershire, and to the University.”
