Head of College Frances Corner received an honorary doctorate from the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (BIFT) at the IFFTI conference (International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes) 21- 25 March 2016.
IFFTI serves as a forum comprising leading International Fashion Education Institutions, to meaningfully help and support each other to advance education research in various subjects of fashion, a melting pot of plans and discussions. The IFFTI conference is now in its 18th year after starting in Delhi in 1999, and this year was hosted by BIFT in Beijing. It has grown from 17 organisations in its first year to 57 institutions from 22 different countries. Six of our LCF directors attended the event and discussed many different areas on how LCF can collaborate, stimulate awareness and support for international/intercultural understanding through educational exchanges and academic overseas programs, as well as supporting international awards and internships.
The outcome of the conference not only honoured Professor Corner but also sparked some new exciting leads on collaborative projects and potential staff/student exchanges across the globe.
