LCF News: Tell us about your final collection?
My final collection is the outcome of integrated innovations and processes. It is inspired by traditional Peruvian handcrafts and textiles and is based around building a relationship between knitting and weaving and modern functional garments. The collection integrates traditional elements with modern design and production methodology.
LCF News: What did you do prior to your MA at LCF?
I completed the BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles: Knit course at LCF.
LCF News: What are your future plans?
I aim to continue enhancing my skills in knitwear design and absorb knowledge in both domestic and computerised knitting techniques. I want to be a knitwear designer in menswear and childrenswear and eventually have my own textile/knitwear design studio.
LCF News: How do you think the course will help you to realise these plans?
MA Menswear is a sophisticated course that demands a high standard of work whilst providing a solid platform for students to create their collections. With the guidance of my tutor and technicians, I successfully achieved a complete collection that fully represented my initial ideas based on the knowledge I’ve gained from both my BA and MA studies. I have become a better designer from studying this course.
LCF News: What advice would you give to anyone considering studying an MA at LCF?
MA Menswear is a top choice!
