Eun Kyeng Seo studied MA Fashion Design Technology Womenswear and is from Republic of Korea.

Did you undertake any internships whilst studying? And if so how do you feel about them?

I worked for Studio TooGood which is based in London – it is a pretty cool design studio. It was exactly where I dreamed of working as a young creative as they design interiors, furniture and sculpture. They contacted me because they were about to launch a fashion brand. I was really excited because they had contacted me and as a company it was already on my radar. The special thing about this studio is that there are no boundaries between different creative disciplines. We shared our knowledge and inspired each other. I think this working environment impressed upon me and influenced me to stay in London and study for an MA.

What inspires you?

Art works, films, light, shadow, people, books, daily life and the city… I think it is not about where you get the inspiration, it is how you approach the inspiration. Once I find what I like, I do lots of research. I don’t believe that ideas come out of the middle of nowhere.

What are your future plans?

I have always admired the work of Margiela amd Nicolas Ghesquiere and I would also love to work for Acne – these are my dream jobs. Recently, I received an email from NOISE saying that they would like to invite me to promote my collection. So this is what I will be doing in the close future. Later in life I would like to go back to Korea to educate students – teaching them all of the skills and knowledge that I have learnt here.
