Two LCF BA (Hons) Fashion and Technology: Womenswear graduates who started luxury leather womenswear brand The Nineteenth, have seen their debut AW15 collection shown at London and Paris fashion weeks.

Sidonie Pannell and Katie Ayres, both London raised designers, graduated from BA (Hons) Fashion and Technology: Womenswear in 2012. Sidonie and Katie say their brand is a ‘geekish appreciation for beautiful fabrics and textures.’ Their debut AW15 collection plays on classic luxury leather cuts that are grounded with chunky luxury trimmings for women. This season’s palette plays through off-white, powder and deep pink. forest green, navy and black, elevated with patent and metallic detailing.

The Nineteenth collection pays attention to detail beautifully, the leather jackets are crafted from the softest lamp nappa and thoughtfully contrasted with their signature use of perch and salmon skin prim silhouettes with excellent consideration and understanding of cuts. The leather jackets, like the rest of the collection, have built up a reputation for being ‘weirdly cool’ and have become an instant hits with fashion journalists and the luxury fashion community. Pandora Sykes, stylist and writer for The Sunday Times Style said, ‘Luxury knows no bounds’ about The Nineteenth after showcasing their salmon and perch skin leather jacket.

The leather jackets are lined with printed silk and woven cotton for an added feel of luxury and crafted design.  The graduates have seen the AW15 collection shot for the September Issue of Elle Japan, and have had great encouragement & support from the likes of Fergie (Black Eyed Peas) Mademoiselle Yulia (Tokyo) Melanie Rickey & Carolina Issa (Tank Magazine) to name a few so far.The Nineteenth are also currently collaborating with LA designer Lor-e Phillips, making a custom piece for Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas.

After such a promising start the future looks fantastic for Sidonie, Katie and The Ninteenth.
