Over the past year LCF students and alumni have taken part in many collaborations, competitions, exhibitions and other opportunities across the industry. Here we just touch the tip of the iceberg and give you some of the highlights from 2015:
As it’s that time of year we are going to start with the fabulous Destination Christmas windows at Selfridges. Two of our alumni were asked to take part in 2015, Ana Rajcevic (MA Fashion Artefact) was commissioned by Selfridges to make a head piece for the ‘Journey to the Stars’ display, an astrologically themed campaign in their flagship store on Oxford Street.
BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology Womenswear alumna and award winning couturier Ada Zanditon was also commissioned to create a collection of three cosmically inspired mermaids for the Pisces window.
Buying and Merchandising alumna wins Green Gown Sustainability Champion Award
The 11th Green Gown Awards saw BA (Hons) Buying and Merchandising alumna Charlotte Rebekah Instone crowned Sustainability Champion Student Award 2015 and LCF received ‘Highly Commended’ for the project with Art Against Knives.
DASH Magazine illustration
DASH Magazine has teamed up with BA (Hons) Fashion Illustration students to create an illustration campaignthat discusses gender, conformity and the dressing of differentsexualities. The campaign, ‘Gender / No Gender’, features nine students and course leader Sue Dray. Read more
International Fashion Management CMI Award winners
Three MSc International Fashion Management students were recently awarded the prestigious Chartered Management Institute (CMI) London and South East Regional Boards Award. Michelle Paulini, Maria Dvorkinand Yasmine Richardson received gold, silver and bronze prizes respectively for dissertations that demonstrated significant levels of innovative, strategic or sustainable management or leadership. BA (Hons) Creative Direction for Fashion students work with fashion app KNOMI
London-based fashion media startup KNOMI asked BA (Hons) Creative Direction for Fashion students to create moving images for their recently launched fashion discovery app. KNOMI selected five winners from the BA course to help launch their app, they’ve since been offered paid internships and some continue to work with the company as it grows. Two second year BA (Hons) Fashion Contour students – Céline Wenninger and Florence Morris-Clarke were shortlisted for the prestigious Link Award – part of the MarediModa|IntimodiModa fair held in Cannes. Read more
