Over the past year LCF has taken part in a number of collaborations industry professionals and companies.

Here are our some of the 2015 highlights:

This year LCF collaborated twice with  high street giant H&M. Back in March our BA (Hons) Fashion Illustration alumni and course leader Sue Dray were asked to illustrate key looks from 5 of their SS15 collections. The illustrations were used alongside the mannequin displays throughout the flagship store, in the Regent Street window and in a dedicated gallery in the 4th Floor Lounge.

As part of H&M’s first nationwide Fashion Recycling Week students from BA (Hons) Creative Direction for Fashion created window installations using garments donated through the initiative. The installations were displayed in H&M windows in eight key cities across UK and Ireland.

This year we announced a collaboration between LCF and the MOBO Awards, as part of their new initiative: Rise With Us. This year MOBO celebrated its 20th anniversary, and showcased and supported individuals, whatever their chosen path in the creative arts may be – not just music. We worked together with MOBO to develop the relationship between fashion and music of black origin and we have been spoke to LCF students, staff and alumni about their ideas on diversity within the fashion industry, and the relationship between fashion and music. The interviews can be seen on YouTube LCFxMOBO #RiseWithUs

LCFxKering

The Centre for Sustainable Fashion at London College of Fashion and Kering, the world leader in apparel and accessories, partnered in 2014 in a 5 year to support sustainable practices and innovation in the fashion industry. In November we welcomed world surfing champion, entrepreneur and founder of menswear brand Outerknown, Kelly Slater, as their guest of honour at the annual Kering Talks on Sustainable Fashion.

“I believe that it is vital for our future that businesses build sustainable practices into the core of their development. Sustainability starts with transparency and I hope that through the Kering and London College of Fashion, partnership we are able to create change in the fashion industry from the ground up.”
