Shannon Chan from MA Fashion Journalism created a magazine called PersonA for her final project. She spoke to us as part of the LCFMA18 graduate spotlight series and told us why she chose LCF and London, and what her plans for the future are. Find out more about MA Fashion Journalism at the LCFMA18 Exhibition at the Oxo Tower Wharf, from Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 Feburary.

Tell us about your final project…

It’s a lifestyle magazine called PersonA, for our spiritual mental well-being. Through the lenses of arts, culture and literature, PersonA helps us to reclaim out neglected persona, the part of us that has become buried in the daily grind.

What would be your top tips to new students…

Don’t be afraid of your ideas. Face your inner-self, find out what your talent is and embrace it with your interest.

What made you chose LCF and London…

The location – London is a multicultural fashion hub; and the reputation of LCF. It is so cool to have Uni at the centre of Oxford Circus, surrounded by tourists, shoppers, shops and department stores.

What were the highlights and biggest challenges of your course…

I spent a lot on the projects, but it was worth the cost. I had a lot of fun spending time exploring myself and the creative industry, learnt a lot, got surprised a lot, cried a lot, mentally broke down a lot – but still it was very fulfilling.

Have you been on a work placement or internship…

 Yes. Fashion PR Intern.

My biggest inspirations and muses are…

Instagram for sure.

What are your plans for life after your MA…

I will live a ‘happily ever after’ life with my passion, in the creative industry and make money.

LCF is moving east. What do you think about the move…

Perfect! I am living in East, although soon I will no longer be a student.
