LCF News: Tell us about your final collection

Meng Yu: The moving colour drops and unexpected colour shapes in my sketches inspired me to design this knitwear collection. Each piece of fabric in this collection comes from yarns. I paid more attention to the colours and textiles in this collection. The silhouette is baggy and oversized and it’s a little bit lovely and a little bit naughty!

LCF News: Where did you study prior to your MA at LCF?

MY: I studied fashion design and knitwear design in Dalian Polytechnic University.

LCF News: What are your future plans?

MY: I want to work for some studios and brands first. After that, when I have more experience, I want to run my own business in China.

LCF News: How do you think the course will help you to realise these plans?

MY: During my MA course, I’ve learnt more about the fashion industry and technical skills. I also understand the importance of good time management and being confident. All of these skills are good for my future in the world of work.

LCF News: What advice would you give to anyone considering studying an MA at LCF?

MY: The MA is a fantastic course. Firstly, our course leader and all the technicians are really nice and help you all the time. Then, it’s really exciting studying in London. It is really worthwhile studying an MA at LCF.
