
LCF Class of 2022: Cordwainers and Liveries Awards

On Friday 15 July, LCF held an awards ceremony hosted by Graduate School Creative Director of Graduate Communities Course Leader MA Fashion Artefact, Dai Rees, to celebrate London College of Fashion students Cordwainers and Liveries Awards.
14 Cordwainers Awards were handed to graduates from BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear: Product Design and Innovation and BA (Hons) Cordwainers Fashion Bags and Accessories: Product Design and Innovation.

Penny Graham, The Honourable Clerk of the Worship company of Cordwainers stood in as a successor on behalf of John Peel. Penny proudly presented the certificates to the following students:

Matthew Bedford - Cordwainers' Prize for Sustainability
Naomi Rodgers - Cordwainers Archive Award
Oria Mulrooney - BA Cordwainers Placement Bursary
Arjun Bansal - BA Cordwainers Placement Bursary
Charlie Moreno - Cordwainers BA Bursary
Natasha Montesino - Cordwainers BA Bursary
Verna Stembridge - Cordwainers MA Scholarship
Matthew Bedford - BA Jimmy Choo Dato Award
Allison Gomez - BA Jimmy Choo Dato Award
Rui Miguel Ribeiro Da Silva - MA Jimmy Choo Dato Award
Shanshan Yang - MA Jimmy Choo Dato Award Runner Up

The exceptional work throughout the year also marked the amazing talent shown by graduates Paul Strand, Max Virkkunen and Lucy Pryor who all won the Cordwainers Cup for Excellence. With buzzing atmosphere and joy, the final award was given to Clara Nordenhoek who won the Cordwainers Student of the Year.

We also commemorated seven Livery Awards; Master Daphne Cave of Lime Street and Cornhill Ward Club congratulated Shertienne Lee, Category 2 Winner: Myths and Legends and Shelle Taylor Gloves Fit for the Queen awards.
Richard Hawkins, Master of the Worshipful Company of Curriers displayed great gratitude as he handed the accreditations to Allison Gomez the Curriers Cup of Excellence, winning her second award of the evening alongside the BA Jimmy Choo Dato Award.
This year’s winner of Leathersellers Emerging Talent Award was Andy Chen - Leathersellers Designer of the Year, Solveig Lancerey - Leathersellers Emerging Talent Award and Eleni Tsofi - Leathersellers Archive Award.
The evening ended with celebratory drinks with friends and family with Dai Rees expressing his gratitude in the astounding work created and thanked the judges for attending the ceremony.
