BA Fashion Textiles – Harry Harvey Chelsea Flower Show

After the success of Katie Bowkett’s logo design last year, and Harriet Eldridge (aka Harry Harvey) this year RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) Chelsea Flower Show have commissioned yet another LCF student, Yu Lin FdA Fashion Design Technology (Surface Textiles) to design their logo for 2015.

All three students have received a sum of £500 for their efforts along with global brand recognition and promotion; their designs have been used in the Flower Show’s catalogues, online advertising, on flags, souvenirs, pins and memorabilia for the event.

This year the show took place 20-24 May and Harriet, BA Fashion Textiles, was invited by the RHS to attend the show as a guest in the Fortnum and Mason hospitality tent, she said “I went with my mum and my gran, we had a lovely day – I didn’t realise my design would be on everything, it was literally everywhere I looked.

“It was amazing to see my design blown up on the side of the main exhibition tent, I couldn’t stop smiling all day!”

Katie Bowkett’s work for the flower show last year generated £1,100 in royalties for the School of Fashion Design Technology, so the continued success of our students with the RHS – the UK’s leading gardening charity, is fantastic news for LCF.

All three of the students are set to graduate from LCF this year and now have a prestigious accolade under their belts to take forward into their future careers.
