Organised by LCF Graduate Futures, BIMBA Y LOLA visited to recruit new talent for their summer internship programme and upcoming vacancies. BIMBA Y LOLA is a Spanish womenswear brand and creative collective that prides itself on being ‘deeply fresh’ and ‘seriously playful’. The brand advocates the ‘power of creativity to shape a better world’. Founded in 2005, the brand has expanded internationally and now has multiple stores scattered across London.

Soon to be graduates from the BA (Hons) Cordwainers Fashion Bags and Accessories: Product Design and Innovation, BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery and the BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear programmes shared their portfolios with the BIMBA Y LOLA team. Students presented digital and physical portfolios, including garments and prototypes of hand embroidered denim jackets, geometric shaped leather handbags and neutral toned, ruffled bonnets and voluminous bibbed dresses. Flexing their creative, and at times, bilingual skills, the portfolio review acted as an ideal platform for emphasising the creative, multi-cultural student community at LCF.

With graduation looming, competition between peers can often apply additional pressure however, the atmosphere among cohorts was nothing but supportive and encouraging. Representatives from the BIMBA Y LOLA team enjoyed the drive and diverse talent of the LCF students that attended.
