This week, from Tuesday 1 July – Thursday 3 July, D&AD’s New Blood exhibition and festival took over Old Spitalfields Market. LCC’s School of Design had a stand at the festival showing ‘EDIT 01: Design Works’ a book which celebrates the work of a selection of handpicked undergraduate students.
The School of Design won ‘Best New Blood Stand’, which D&AD awards to “the stand-out stand. One that catches the eye, makes you want to stop, look, and find out more. Once inside, it needs to function well as well as looking good. It should do a good job of presenting the students and their work. ”
Lawrence Zeegen, Dean of the School of Design explains, “Exploring the multi-faceted, trans-disciplinary, cross-media and hybrid fields of graphic, interaction and spatial communication design, these students stand at the cross-section of traditional and digital practice. At LCC aim to foster creative practitioners empowered and aware of their ethical, moral, cultural, social, economic and environmental responsibilities as 21st century citizens and designers.”
As a winner LCC will now get a complimentary D&AD Education Network Membership.
