LCC MA Sound Arts graduate Lotte Rose Kjær Skau wins the Helle & Arenth Jacobsen’s award for young artists

Lotte Rose, a 2012 MA Sound Arts graduate, has just been selected as this year’s winner of the Helle & Arenth Jacobsen’s award, as part of The Spring Exhibition in Copenhagen.

Organised by Charlottenborg Fonden, one of the largest spaces for contemporary art in Europe, The Spring Exhibition is an open, juried exhibition that has been a recurring annual event in Denmark’s capital for the last 157 years.

Lotte’s  video piece, ‘How to get Somewhere’, was selected as the winning submission for the jury’s special award, the Helle & Arenth Jacobsen’s Grant for Young Artists. Lotte will receive 10.000DKK (£1100) for the piece that she made whilst studying for her MA at LCC and exhibited in the Interim exhibition.

It is currently on show at the Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen until 18 May 2014.

Lotte is currently represented by London’s IMT Gallery, where she recently exhibited ‘United We/I Stand Etc(2014), also featuring work begun at LCC.
