Unfolding Narratives

Unfolding Narratives is the Postgraduate Research work-in-progress exhibition at London College of Communication.

LCC and UAL are international leaders in practice-based doctoral research. Many of our PhD students are making art or media work alongside writing text, and their journeys result in the creation of work that makes a significant new contribution to knowledge in many forms ranging from film to design.

'Unfolding Narratives' invites audiences into process: an ongoing dialogue between research, practice and audience.

Since 2021, more than 50 PhD researchers have shared their work through exhibitions, performances, meet and greets, symposia, and other events. Here, research is actively shaped, tested, and reimagined in real time.

Why it matters

'Unfolding Narratives' creates a space for researchers to share their work-in-progress with diverse audiences. This allows ideas to be tested, refined, and developed through dialogue and interaction. The exhibition also fosters collaboration between researchers and opens pathways to engage with communities and potential partners both within and outside the University.

Get involved

'Unfolding Narratives' is made possible through collaboration with our external partners. Together, we can continue to build on our successes and provide more opportunities for our students to develop their research and practice.

If you are interested in collaborating with our Postgraduate Research community, finding out more learning more about doctoral projects, or exploring ways to collaborate on future 'Unfolding Narratives', please get in touch.
