Zofia Plonczak is an alumni of BA (Hons) Live Events and Television (now BA (Hons) Television and Live Events Production) at London College of Communication.
What did you study at LCC and what year did you graduate?
I studied BA (Hons) Live Events and Television at London College of Communication, FdA then followed it up with a BA top-up. I graduated in 2015.
Where are you from in the world?
What are your fondest memories of LCC?
One of my favourite memories is the first term of Year Two where we spent three months at the onsite theatre at Wimbledon College of Arts building two production teams and producing a live event of our choice. I was selected to be the producer which built my confidence as a leader and shaped my future career choices.
Another great time was a two-week project in the LCC TV studio making a live TV show. This was the first thing we did in Year One and was a great introduction to my studies.
What are you working at the moment?
I’m the Event Producer at London Warehouse Events, where I’ve worked since 2017.
Name three things you couldn't be creative without:
The people I work with, a goal-achieving approach to life, new experiences.
If you could collaborate creatively with anybody in the world who would it be? (Or maybe you already have?).
I’m more driven by places than I am by people. I’d like to take some of our events abroad and collaborate with like-minded people in different environments around the world.
What drives you to succeed?
The final outcome is always the goal, but it usually just comes down to my team – we all share that goal and care deeply that our shows are exceptionally good. Having a good team means that working late at night becomes fulfilling rather than painful or tiring. We all absolutely love it and that’s the key to success and motivation.
What three words would you use to best describe LCC?
Adventurous, well equipped, open-minded
What piece of advice would you give to new students?
Put effort into collaboration and use this experience to learn how to manage your time properly – the tutors are right on this one, it’s the key to success. Make good use of the university’s facilities – there are plenty to chose from.
Where in London do you go when you need a little inspiration?
My flat in Hackney Wick on a Sunday afternoon, on the rooftop, if weather allows.
