Biography

Stephanie McLaren-Neckles is a Senior Lecturer in the Design School at the London College of Communication, where she leads the Professional Practices Unit (PPU) and heads BAMBUU, an undergraduate incubator program.

A transdisciplinary designer and strategist, Stephanie brings a diverse background to the creative industries, having worked as a TV Presenter on MTV and Trouble TV, and as co-founder of the fashion-forward design label Sexie Booda, whose work was showcased at the V&A Museum and sold in stores such as Urban Outfitters, Topshop UK, and boutiques in Harajuku, Japan. She also co-founded the community engagement consultancy TWENTY%EXTRA and the Let's Be Brief platform and studio.

Having worked with clients such as Louis Vuitton, Royal Foundation, Channel 4, British Council, Virgin, Peabody, and Time's UP UK, she holds positions as a trustee at Design Can, a former trustee of Open School East, and steering board member of Not Just a Shop (UAL).

Stephanie has also served as an industry judge for Design Week, D&AD, and Creative Conscience awards. Her research currently focuses on Ways of Working and the Future of Work, leveraging systemic design and culture.
