Sara Ekenger is an artist, designer-maker, business-owner, and Course Leader of the MA Design Management course at London College of Communication.
Sara has a creative background in business, design and theatre. She has international experience in experiential store planning and is a practicing designer and sculptor working with various theatrical and educational organisations – delivering scenographic solutions and a range of design and performance workshops.
Sara is the owner of EekNGrr Productions – a company which creates set design, props and puppets on commission for theatre, film and advertising, and produces original theatre. She is also a founding director of Unpacked Theatre, a critically acclaimed, touring theatre company known for its physicality, visual creativity and imaginative storytelling.
Sara has run educational and theatrical workshops, as well as a range of different projects including street-based community initiatives and schools-based creative partnerships, family learning, promenade installations and theatre productions. She also runs short courses in puppetry and moving sculpture.
Her practice-based research and expertise centres on fostering creativity in organisations and individuals, and developing cross-disciplinary teaching methods to strengthen creative literacy and confidence.
Sara joined LCC having previously lectured in design management, design strategy, and branding innovation, as well as theatre practice, at a range of universities across the UK.
