Biography

Rebecca Pearce is Acting Course Leader for BA (Hons) Journalism and a Senior Lecturer on MA Arts and Lifestyle Journalism and across the Journalism and Publishing programme at London College of Communication.

Rebecca began her journalistic career volunteering at BBC Greater Manchester Radio's arts programme, progressing from tea-maker to on air package-maker.

This led to a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism at London College of Communication, followed by reporting and production roles at Radio 4 magazine programmes. She switched to local news reporting at BBC Greater London Radio, covering elections, riots and plenty of tube strikes.

Moving into BBC TV national news, Rebecca became a senior producer for BBC3, then BBC Breakfast, popping up on screen as a reporter too. She left BBC News in 2007 to pursue her career in teaching, completing her PGCE in Academic Practice in 2013.
