Maryclare Foá has taught drawing across different disciplines (Illustration, Fine Art, Animation and Fashion), in undergraduate and post graduate courses since graduating from the Royal College of art in 1984.
Her practice (aka R&F Mo costumed as the Woanderer to navigate the terrain) explores narratives that connect the seen the sensed and the dreamed, while also referencing cross species relations and issues of identity playfulness & performance.
Maryclare completed her PhD (Sounding out: performance drawing in response to the outside environment) in 2011 and co-authored the book Performance Drawing: New Practices since 1945 (Bloomsbury 2020).
In 2020 Maryclare exhibited in the TBW Drawing Prize exhibition and in 2021 in the RA Summer Show, she also took part in the Performance Drawing 2021 residency (together with her fellow authors Birgitta Hosea and Carali McCall) at C4rd (The Centre for Recent Drawing London).
Maryclare is currently working on a text concerning ‘Woandering’ (the physical motion and mental exploration) undertaken during creative practice.
