Biography

Mark is a television writer and Associate Lecturer for BA (Hons) Film and Television and MA Screenwriting.

A graduate himself of MA Screenwriting at LCC and the BBC Writers’ Academy, Mark has written children's television, cartoons, drama documentaries and short plays.

His television credits include The Animated Bean, Bodystory and Missing, which he also storylined, as well as BBC Doctors, where he is a core writer. He has also written more than 20 episodes of Eastenders.

Dedicated to helping students develop their craft as writers – a skill they will always need in their professional careers, whatever aspect of the media that may be in - Mark uses lectures, workshops and tutorials to bring narrative structure, character and each student’s individual voice to the stories that they want to tell.

As a working writer, he gives students access to the process of programme-making and as an alumnus of UAL, will always aim to equip them to start a career in their chosen field.
