Interview
What did you study at LCC and what year did you graduate?
I studied BA (Hons) Live Events and Television and graduated in 2013.
Where are you from in the world?
England however I'm currently living in Australia.
Why did you choose to study this course and why LCC?
I've always had a passion for events and being surrounded by something I enjoy was always my dream! The structure of the course at LCC appealed to me most, especially its lean towards practical units.
What is the most important thing you learned while studying BA (Hons) Live Events and Television?
That in this industry you have to be very resilient. You will often have to throw together projects with no budget at the very last minute, and half of the time that’s why it's so rewarding.
How has the course helped you be where you are today?
The focus of the course is very practical which meant that I was already involved in the industry before I finished my studies, making the transition between the two incredibly easy.
Where are you working at the moment and what are some recent interesting projects you’ve worked on?
I'm currently the Events Manager of a craft beer bar in Sydney, Australia.
Interesting projects I've worked on since graduating include:
- Casting assistant for the London 2012 Olympic Ceremonies
- Production assistant at Secret Garden Party Festival
- Area Manager for Wilderness Festival
- Backstage Liaison at London Fashion Week
Name three things you couldn't be creative without:
Coffee, Glitter and Excel Spreadsheets.
Where in London did you used to go when you need a little inspiration?
I enjoyed wandering down Brick Lane but when I really needed to relax and let the creativity flow I would either pop into the Cat café or have a wonder around Stepney Farm. There's nothing more relaxing than cute animals!
What are your future plans and ambitions?
I would like to create my own music and arts festival.
