Activities Week is an extra non-teaching week for undergraduate students and is a great opportunity for you to to rest, study, work or take part in some of the workshops and events we have taking place.
This year Activities Week takes place 5 – 9 February. Want to make the most of your week? Here are some great ideas for what you can do during Activities Week 2024:
Be creative and meet people at some of our workshops, talks and events
If you feel like checking out the other UAL sites, joining creative sessions or connecting with other students, take a look at our week-long programme of workshops and events.
Teams across UAL are working on setting up events for you to join, so if there may not look like much going on now, make sure to check back in early February to see the full list of events.
Please note that the majority of events welcome students from all courses and Colleges, although some exceptions may apply.
Get some rest and find the support you need
It's important that you look after your wellbeing and reach out for support when you need it. You can use this year’s Activities Week to take some well-deserved rest or explore some of the ways in which UAL can support your wellbeing:
- Sign up to one of our wellbeing and art therapy workshops
- Join Togetherall, your 24/7 online wellbeing community
- Reach out for counselling, chaplaincy and health advice

Put your studies into practice and find work through UAL’s jobs board
You might already be looking for job opportunities or internships that complement your studies – here are some ways in which we can help you find work doing what you love:
- Register with Arts Temps to help you find creative and flexible job opportunities
- Check out UAL’s Careers and Employability team, and their comprehensive career toolkit, information on awards, funding and support, their free workshops and events and so much more
- Join the Careers and Employability team’s Founders and Freelancers community on the Dots
Study and nurture your practice
As there’ll be no teaching during Activities Week, you’ll likely have some more time to focus on projects or assignments you’re currently working on. It’s also a good opportunity to check out what London has to offer, get inspired and help nurture your practice:
- Whether you’ve signed up with Student Art Pass or not, there are plenty of events, exhibitions and opportunities to explore on their website taking place around London
- Explore all the arts and culture your local area has to offer with the help of our guides:
- Get support with your assignments through Academic Support and Language Development
- Book a workshop space or borrow equipment from your College’s loan store
- Meet up with your study group at one of our libraries or explore them on your own – UAL students have access to all libraries across our Colleges!
- Practise a language you are interested in with another UAL student in a relaxed and informal way with the Student Language Exchange Board. Use your UAL log-in to access the board on Padlet.
