Biography

Worsfold makes pictures of everyday life, whether from memory or imagined. The paintings are often intensely laboured, made working flat, like giant watercolours.

The subjects often come out of doodles based on daily observations such as dirty tube seats, glass-fronted swimming pools, blocked plug holes and spoilt children. Recently Worsfold has been depicting figures as fictional character composites. Worsfold is interested in graphic languages, using these as vessels for personal themes which include; daily anxieties, rituals and obsessions.

Exhibitions include solo presentations at Carlos/Ishikawa (London) and Recent Activity (Birmingham). His work has also been included in group exhibitions at Royal Academy of Arts, ICA (both London) and Spike Island (Bristol).
