Vectorworks an Introduction Online Short Course
Course description
Computer-aided design (CAD) modelling is an essential part of visualising design ideas for architecture and spatial design. This course will help you understand the general logic of Vectorworks, an industry-standard CAD software used for drafting, technical drawing and 3D modelling.
Computer models can aid in the process of experimentation and design development, complementing physical model making and drawing. Creating models in CAD can help you to better understand how spatial volumes work and how the user would experience them.
The course will introduce you to the various ways of using Vectorworks to create 3D designs and structures. Through tutor-led demonstrations and personal projects you will learn the different techniques that are most appropriate for creating 3D objects.
Course Outcomes
By the end of the course you should be able to:
- Use appropriate techniques to create various objects with efficiency
- Have a general understanding of the logic of the software
- Understand the different palettes, tools and editing options used in Vectorworks
- Create 2D and 3D designs and structures
- Understand and use scale in your design drawing
Who Should Attend
Students and professionals wishing to learn to use Vectorworks for computed-aided design. Please note that this course is taught on Macs.
Important
You are required to get a Vectorworks licence from https://student.myvectorworks.net/. You can get a student licence free for a set period determined by Vectorworks (3-12 months is the normal range but this can vary). If you are not able to get a student license there is also an option to download the trial version which is valid for 30 days from activation.
Wherever possible, please try to check the software is working correctly before the course starts.
All our Online Short Courses include:
- Live online lessons with the same tutors
- The same course content and learning outcomes
