UAL, as a global institution, brings together a community of students and staff from around the world. Many of us, particularly those with friends and family or close ties with the region will be deeply concerned about the escalating violence and loss of life in Israel and Palestine.

Times like this remind us of the importance of mutual understanding and tolerance, and that all forms of racism, antisemitism, islamophobia, discrimination, and abuse have no place in our community. If you see or experience it, students (and staff) can report it through Tell Someone.

Students

Through the Dean of Students, we have contacted students from Israel and Palestine to offer direct support. If you need urgent support and are not already in contact with UAL – please contact Mark Crawley, Dean of Students: m.crawley@arts.ac.uk

If your ability to complete your work or assessment has been impacted by the conflict, you can apply for Extenuating Circumstances. Arts SU, your students' union, can also offer independent advice on the Extenuating Circumstances process.

All students can access Counselling, Health Advice & Chaplaincy services and can visit our Wellbeing hub for further resources. Students can also access 24/7 online mental health support through Togetherall. We are here to support all.

Chaplaincy

The Chaplaincy Service at UAL offers pastoral and spiritual care to all students and staff. Our Chaplains also work with advisors from other faiths, who students can speak to and meet with.
