We hope you all have a well-deserved rest over the Spring break. Here is your need-to-know information about accessing our buildings and contacting staff members during this time.

Contacting staff

College academic, technical and support staff may take a break over this period. We hope you will too! This may mean that it will take longer to come back to your enquiries throughout this time. So thank you for your understanding.

If you need urgent medical or mental health support during the holidays, please refer to our helplines and emergency support page (which includes information about how to access support when the university is closed – see ‘support outside of working hours’).

Key dates

Friday 15 March 2024: Higher Education term finishes.
Thursday 28 March 2024: Further Education term finishes.

Friday 29 March – Monday 1 April 2024: UAL closed. This is Easter weekend and a bank holiday so staff may not answer emails.

Tuesday 2 April 2024: UAL reopens.
Monday 8 April: Higher Education summer term begins.
Monday 15 April: Further Education summer term begins.

Opening hours

If you're staying in London over the holidays, here's a round-up of when you can access the facilities at Central Saint Martins.

King's Cross workshops and studios
Some of our workshops will be open until Friday 22 March. Details are available on CSM Technical Moodle.

  • Access is for final year students working on established projects
  • We will be providing support to access the facilities and not in depth technical support
  • Students should book or make arrangements with the technical staff the week before.

Archway workshops
Friday 29 March – Friday 5 April 2024: closed

Library and Learning Zone
Saturday 16 - Thursday 28 March:

  • Monday - Friday: 10am - 6pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10am - 4pm

Friday 29 March - Monday 1 April: Closed

Tuesday 2 - Sunday 7 April:

  • Tuesday - Friday: 10am - 6pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10am - 4pm

Student Centre
18 - 28 March:

  • Monday - Friday: 10am – 1pm (in person)
  • Monday - Friday: 2 – 5pm (online)

29 March – 1 April: Closed

2 – 5 April:

  • Tuesday - Friday: 10am – 1pm (in person)
  • Tuesday - Friday: 2 – 5pm (online)

Student Services
Closed for maintenance work from 15 March . Space will reopen in Summer term.

Friday 29 March – Monday 1 April: closed

arts shop - Archway
Friday 28 March -  Sunday 14 April: closed

Central Loan Store
The Loan Store will be closed during the Easter break. An extended loan scheme will be available to 2nd and 3rd year BA and MA students.

Platform Bar
Closed: 16 March -  8 April

King's Cross canteen
From 18 March –  7 April there will be a reduced service: 12 – 2pm

King's Cross Coffee shop
From 18 March –  7 April there will be a reduced service: 8am – 4pm (open on weekdays only)

Archway Cafetorium
Friday 29 March to and including Friday, 12 April: closed

Archway Main site will be closed to students Friday 29 March through to Friday 5 April (inclusive) while maintenance works take place.

Archway Annex Site – the closing times will remain as normal:
Staff – 8.30 am to 9pm
Students – 9am to 9pm

Both Archway Main and Annex Sites will be closed over the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend: Friday 29 March – Monday 1 April
